This is a blended learning course for ACLS. The didactic portion is completed online via elearning and then skills verification is completed during the course. You must complete the online portion first. The skills consists of adult and infant BLS, adult airway managment and adult megacode practical testing.
The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification course is for healthcare professionals. Upon successful completion, particiapant will receive a certification card valid for two years.
Course Completion Requirements: To receive a course completion card, the student must:
- Complete the HeartCODE ACLS online portion prior to start of class
- Bring printed copy of completion certificates for course with you to enter classroom
- Attend and participate in the entire course
- Demonstrate proficiency in CPR skills
- Pass required skills tests
The HeartCODE online course is a Web-based, self-paced instructional program that uses eSimualtion technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual, healthcare settings. In this environment, students apply their knowledge to real-time decision making and skills development. Debriefings and coaching are provided immediately after each simulation to facilitate learning. After compleing the cognitive portion of the course, students practice and test out their skills with an AHA instructor in classroom setting. Upon successful completion of the skills test, students receive a course completion card.
