This is a blended learning course for ACLS. The didactic portion is completed online via eLearning and then skills verification will be completed during the course. You must complete the online portion first. The link for the online module will be included in the confirmation email. The skills consist of adult BLS, adult airway management and adult mega-code practical testing.
The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification course is for healthcare professionals. Upon successful completion, participant will receive a certification card valid for two years.
Course Completion Requirements: To receive a course completion card, the student must:
- Complete the HeartCODE ACLS Online Portion prior to start of class.
- Bring printed copy of completion certificates for course with you to enter classroom.
- Attend and participate in the entire course.
- Demonstrate proficiency in adult BLS skills.
- Pass required skills tests.
The HeartCODE online course is a Web-based, self-paced instructional program that uses eSimualtion technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual, healthcare settings. In this environment, students apply their knowledge to real-time decision making and skills development. Debriefings and coaching are provided immediately after each simulation to facilitate learning. After completing the cognitive portion of the course, students practice and evaluate their skills with an AHA instructor in classroom setting. Upon successful completion of the skills test, students receive a course completion card.
